BEACHES


Dog Beach – Coronado

From Ocean Blvd , the Dog Run Leash-free-Park is at the far North end on the ocean. It is open year-round.

Dog Beach – Del Mar

Dogs are permitted off leash, under voice control, from September 15 to June 15 inclusive (see Del Mar City Code section 4 for more info). To get to Dog Beach from the I-5, take the Via de la Valle exit heading west, turn left on Camino Del Mar and the beach is right there on your right.

Dog Beach - Ocean Beach

Dogs are allowed to run off leash at this beach anytime during the day . To get there, take Hwy 8 West until it ends and then it becomes Sunset Cliffs Blvd. Then make a right turn onto Point Loma Blvd and follow the signs to Ocean Beach 's Dog Beach.

Fiesta Island

On this island, dogs are allowed to run off-leash anywhere outside the fenced areas, anytime during the day from 6:00am to 10:00pm.

PARKS


Balboa Park Dog Run

Off leash use is 24 hours a day at: Nate's Point - Balboa Dr. at El Prado, south side of Cabrillo Bridge and Morley Field northwest of tennis courts.

Cadman Community Park – Clairemont

The park is located at 4280 Avati Drive . Leash Free Hours : During the school year: Daily from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. & 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Summer vacation: Daily 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. & 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There are no leash free hours on July 4th and every Saturd ay s from March 1 to June 15.

Capehart Park – Pacific Beach

Located at the corner of Felspar and Soledad Mountain Road, the park is open 24 hours.

Doyle Community Park – University City

The park sits behind Doyle Recreation Center at 8175 Regents Road and is open 24 hours.

Dusty Rhodes Neighborhood Park – Pt Loma

This 1 acre park is located on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard between Nimitz and West Point Loma.

Grape Street Park
Located at Grape Street and Granada Ave this 5 acre site available for off leash use during designated d ay s and times. Posted Leash Free Hours : Mond ay thru Friday: 7:30am to 9:00pm, Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays: 9:00am to 9:00pm.

Harry Griffen Park – La Mesa

Harry Griffen Park is located at 9550 Milden Street.

Kearny Mesa Community Park

This 1 acre park is located at 3170 Armstrong Street.

Maddox Neighborhood Park

This park is located at 7815 Flanders Street.

Rancho Coastal Humane - Encinitas

Located at 389 Requeza Street. Open 10:00 am - 5 pm, licenced and neutered dogs only.

Poway Dog Park

Located at Bowron Road , Poway Community Park is open from sunrise to sunset daily. Lights in the dog park off-leash area extend evening hours to 9:30 p.m.

Rancho Bernardo Park

Located at 18448 West Bernardo Drive, this park is scheduled to open in 2005. There will be leash free space adjacent to Rancho Bernardo Community Park.

Viewpoint Park - Encinitas

Located at Cornish Drive & East D Street. Open 6:00 am - 7:30 am and 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Wells Park – El Cajon

Located in the southwest part of Wells Park at 1153 E. Madison Ave., the off-leash area is open daily from 7 am to 9 pm.
